Purpose of JobÂ
The purpose of this job is to assist in planning, developing and evaluating programs in the Leisure Services Department for the Athens-Clarke County community. This position supports daily program activities, prepares materials and assures programs are maintained and staffed at an appropriate level. The position also manages front desk duties including answering telephones, program registration, handling paperwork and directing the public as needed.
Job Related Requirements
Work Schedule: General Schedule Weekdays: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 11:00 AM-8:00 PM based on class schedules with Wednesday and Friday 8:00 AM-4:00 PM. Summer schedules change to accommodate summer camps 8:00 AM-4:30 PM except for Mondays due to adult classes which convene until 7:00 PM. Â Rehearsal/Performance Schedule: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM during rehearsals and productions. Â Will be required to work evenings and weekends based on the production and community event schedules.
May be required to work on religious holidays.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Must work cooperatively with others.
When requirements include vehicle operation, responsible for the safety, readiness and operation of the vehicle and must abide by ACC’s safe driving policy.
Minimum Training & Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
High school diploma with one year of recreational programming or related experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must be certified in First Aid/CPR or have ability to attain within 6 months of employment.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
