Nawkaw is hiring an experienced Stain Technician (Painter) to lead field crews on commercial construction and exterior finish projects. This position is perfect for someone who thrives on structure, accuracy, independence, and fast-paced work.
This position is best suited for someone with strong painting or construction experience and the ability to travel for work. Some projects are local, but steady full-time work may require overnight travel depending on project schedules.

What You’ll Do
Work alongside a crew on active jobsites.
Support in jobsite setup, substrate preparation, application work, cleanup, tools, equipment, and daily production.
Maintain quality, safety, organization, and productivity in the field.
Communicate clearly with Project Managers and team members.
Operate and care for company vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials.
Represent Nawkaw professionally with team members and customers.
What We’re Looking For
Journeyman-level painting experience, preferably in commercial, industrial, exterior, construction, concrete, masonry, staining, coatings, or specialty finish work.
Ability to travel for work, including overnight and out-of-town projects.
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements.
Ability to pass a post-offer background check and meet motor vehicle record requirements.
Ability to pass drug testing when required by customer, contract, project, or jobsite requirements, including THC or similar contract-mandated requirements where applicable.
OSHA 30 certification required or ability to obtain as required.
For New York / Northeast projects, SST 40-Hour card or ability to obtain as required.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, work at heights, work outdoors, and perform physically demanding field work.
Strong attention to detail, dependability, communication, and follow-through.
Work Location
On the road, with local and travel-based project assignments depending on business needs.
