PURPOSE OF JOB
The purpose of this job is to monitor the entry and exit of the parking deck for Downtown Athens Parking (DAPS) and the Athens Downtown Development Authority (ADDA). Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to superb customer service, collecting money from customers, maintaining smooth traffic flow, preparing daily reports, responding to inquiries, and performing additional tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
The following duties are normal for this job and are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.
·       Generate the morning report with activities from the previous day, prepare the system for the new business day and provide the detailed report to the Parking Deck Manager
·       Report any non-working cars to management for review
·       Maintain smooth traffic flow in and out of the parking deck.
·       Provide polite and courteous service to all customers.
·       Report any suspicious or unlawful activity to management, security guards and/or police
·       Maintain neatness and organization of interior of the parking booth
·       May be required to perform minor repairs if equipment malfunctions.
·       May be asked to provide support for office operations as needed.
·       Perform other duties as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
·       Knowledge of the policies, procedures, methods, and activities of DAPS/ADDA as they pertain to the performance and duties relating to the Parking Deck Attendant position
·       Knowledge of the terminology used within the organization
·       Ability to communicate effectively by written and oral means
·       Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other staff members
·       Ability to use independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations
·       Ability to utilize and understand standard office equipment, computer applications, and techniques as necessary in the completion of daily assignments
 MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
·       High School Diploma required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS
·       Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment
·       Must be able to move and carry objects or materials

This position requires:
·       Walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, seeing, kneeling, and repetitive motions
·       Must have the ability to use one hand for twisting or turning motion while coordinating the other hand with different activities
·       Must have minimal levels of hand/eye/foot coordination
·       Must be able to exert up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally and/or up to ten pounds of force frequently
INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION
·       Requires the ability to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information
·       Includes giving and receiving assignment and/or directions to co-workers and from supervisors
·       Must be able to communicate via telephone. Requires the ability to talk and/or hear
LANGUAGE ABILITY
·       Requires the ability to read a variety of informational documentation, directions, instructions, and methods and procedures
·       Requires the ability to prepare reports, and other documents using prescribed formats and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style.
·       Must be adaptable to performing under considerable stress when confronted with an emergency
·       May require the ability to differentiate between colors and shades of color
