The Northeast Georgia Regional Commission (NEGRC) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Fiscal Specialist. The Fiscal Specialist is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of accounting records and the submission of financial reports in compliance with the appropriate funding agencies. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the Older American Act of 1965; Department of Human Services Division of Aging Services guidelines, the Area Plan process, ADA requirements, GAAP, GASB guidelines, other state and federal guidelines; have acknowledge of government finance, accounting and budgeting principles and procedures; have experience analyzing and interpreting financial administrative data; and have experience preparing and presenting financial reports.

Required:
Ø Knowledge government finance, accounting and budgeting principles and procedures.
Ø Knowledge of public financial administration.
Ø Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
Ø Knowledge of computers, word processing, spreadsheet programs, and job-related software programs.
Ø Skill in analyzing and interpreting financial administrative data.
Ø Skill in the preparing and presenting financial reports.
Ø Knowledge of the NEGRC’s policies and procedures.
Ø Skill in developing working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
Ø Skill in oral and written communication.
Ø Associates degree and more than three years of related experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
Ø Bachelor’s Degree in a Specialized Field (Finance, Accounting, Business Administration).
Ø Five or more years of experience in financial management or a similar role.
Ø Experience with State/Federal government or fund accounting.

This position reports to the Area Agency on Aging Director. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The range for annual salary starts at $50,322.00. A competitive benefits package is provided.
