SCOPE OF WORK
This position is responsible for performing a variety of duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. The Maintenance Technician ensures preventative and routine maintenance for all equipment and support systems in the manufacturing facilities. This position may receive work assignments from other members of the JDR management team.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Detect faulty operations or defective materials and report any unusual situations to management.
- Ensure machine availability by managing dysfunctional machinery in coordination with Shift Management.
- Perform routine calibration and maintenance of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Assist in the introduction of new machinery into the facility.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs on production machines.
- Diagnose and repair industrial equipment, including PLC-controlled systems.
- Maintain electrical equipment, including motors, control boxes, welders, and PLCs.
- Maintain and troubleshoot conveyor systems, both electrical and mechanical.
- Repair and troubleshoot mechanical, electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair or disposal using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, and hoists.
- Measure, cut, and bend conduit (rigid EMT, PVC, and IMC) using hand tools and benders.
- Execute preventative maintenance on motors, gearboxes, conveyor systems, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Perform metal fabrication on aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel using TIG, MIG, and ARC welding.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION
- High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent combination of education and industrial maintenance experience.
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience with strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC skills.
- Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment, including extrusion, winder, glue, and tape machines.
- Commitment to safety at all times.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) and solid understanding of data analysis software.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate, read, and write effectively in English.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Standing and bending for extended periods.
- Occasional stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing.
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds safely as trained.
- Navigate a ~72,000 square-foot manufacturing/warehouse facility with forklifts and heavy machinery.
- Work in a fast-paced team environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Relay necessary information to co-workers effectively.
- Work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Manual dexterity to operate computers and general office equipment.
- Correctable vision and hearing.
